CAGAYAN de Oro City Vice Mayor Vicente Emano is calling on concerned agencies to make a study and look into reports regarding landslide-prone areas in the city.

This, as he noted the reports of Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) that Macapagal Drive in Barangay Carmen is one of the areas with medium to high risk of landslides.

"There is a need to do a study on how to prevent possible landslides in these areas to avoid incurring damages," Emano said.

On Tuesday, the City Council committee on public works discussed the report and recommendations of the MGB regarding risks of landslide along Macapagal Drive, which is now a national road.

The City Planning and Development Office and the City Engineering Department were tasked to conduct the study and to report this to the committee so that proper measures can be undertaken.
