CEBU's top cyclist Niño Surban stamped his class in the mountainbike competition of the inaugural Mayor's Cup Mountainbike Championship the other week in Carmen.

Surban is also trying his luck in the road bike race in Tagaytay last Sunday. The race is the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippine's attempt to put up another cycling team. It served as the tryouts for the team. The results were, however, not yet available.

Surban defeated Earl Cadampog to take the top honors. Albert Basirgo came in at third place, while Adonis Bohol and Barry Ragasajo completed the top five.

Surban is supported by BFC Cyclone, Cebu Offroads and OZ jerseys.

Meanwhile, Randy Carbonera topped the junior-senior division, where he defeated Rolly Cabaluna and Delfin Delfin.

In the beginners-executives class, Roy Carbonera snatched the title from Brian Lozano and Michael John Pilapil.

Magne Klavestud, on the other hand, dominated the veterans-masters division. He won over seasoned rider Nilo Barbalose and Ramon Espinosa.
