Tacloban, Siargao flights at NAIA grounded

MANILA -- Flights going to Tacloban and Siargao have been cancelled due to bad weather brought by Tropical Storm Urduja.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said in an advisory that the flights were suspended as of 10 a.m. Friday, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA):

- 2P (PAL Express) 2981/2982 Manila–Tacloban–Manila

- M8 (Skyjet) 421/422 Manila–Siargao–Manila

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its latest weather bulletin that “Urduja” slightly intensified as it continues to move slowly off the eastern coast of Samar island.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) Number 2 has been raised over the provinces of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Biliran.

TCWS Number 1 is hoisted over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Romblon, Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Northern Cebu including Bantayan Island, Northern Bohol, Capiz, Aklan, Northern Iloilo and Dinagat Islands. (PNA)
