Talaboc bags tenpin title

SEASONED pintoppler Sammy Talaboc clinched the Datba weekly singles tournament title at NCCC Mall B3 Center lanes over the weekend.

Talaboc, who scored 652 after the third game, struck for 201 pinfalls in the final and fourth game to climb the top spot with a total of 867. He was trailing second to Joe Daigdigan who scored 663 in the third. The latter, however, settled for the runner-up honors.

Female player Crystal Chavez, for her part, grabbed the third place with 844 pinfalls.

Talaboc received a cash prize of P900 while Daigdigan claimed P500 and Chavez took home P400 in the event organized by the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba).

Rounding up the top 10 were Ronald Martin (812), Rene Zabat (799), Tans Bernas (778), Ray Gamolo (776), Gab Velasco (762), Sonny Dimaano (761) and Lito Balunan (753).

A total of 20 players competed in the weekly tournament that serves as qualifying event for the monthly finals that stakes bigger cash prizes and creatively-designed trophies to the winners.
