LET'S take a break as we did and hie on off to the party island of Boracay.

But of course, party and me do not go well together, and thus I loved that our annual planning meeting was held at the quiet part of the beach, at Discovery Shores Boracay.

The attention to details is pretty impressive, with the labels of our water bottles replaced with the SunStar logo at the function room. The downside, Wi-Fi was slow and mobile phone signal was low as well, and so you just have to make do with the slow Wi-Fi because you can't get a data signal from your phone.

The hamburger snack was huge and round and cooked perfectly. No eeky blood oozing from the ground meat at all. That would have lasted till dinnertime in my tummy, but having done well in our presentations, we deserved to celebrate the way SunStar Davao celebrates: we eat again.

This time at the restaurant where you get a view of the beach and listen to the acoustic performer.

Pansit, because we're Pinoys and pansit sounds great for celebrations. Chicken in lemon sauce, Bokchoy with tofu, fried spring rolls, and I think that was beef tenderloin... I'm not sure because I was enjoying my Bokchoy because vegetable is scarce in the island and I was missing my veggie fix big-time.

Food is good as it should be. After all, Discovery Shores is a five-star facility. The attendants are pleasant and very helpful.

Over-all? Yeah, five stars less Wi-Fi speed.

Discovery Shores Boracay is at Station 1, the quiet end of the party island that's highly recommended for all those who want some peace and quiet that a white sand beach. Like me.
