TIPC-MC honors firms for practices

THE Tripartite Industrial Peace Council of Mandaue City (TIPC-MC) awarded the First Gawad Linaw Awards for Outstanding Innovative Labor Relations Practices in Mandaue City.

The first awardees of the search are San Miguel Brewery Inc., San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corp. and Wellmade Motors and Development Corp. The winners received the Gawad Linaw Trophy and a P50,000 cash prize.

The search aims to recognize innovative labor relations practices of companies that promote industrial peace that is a key factor in economic progress.

This year’s search was chaired by Vice Mayor Carlo Pontico Fortuna, the alternate TIPC-MC chairman. The board of judges was composed of National Conciliation and Mediation (NCMB) Board Deputy Executive Director Edmundo Mirasol (chairman), former DOLE Undersecretary Josephus B. Jimenez, Philippine Quality and Productivity Movement past president Roger T. Lim, Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry past president Jeruel N. Roa and University of San Carlos College of Law Dean Joan S. Largo.

This yearly search is organized by the TIPC of Mandaue City, Department of Labor and Employment 7, National Conciliation and Mediation Board 7, Regional Tripartite Wages Productivity Board 7 and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry. (PR)
