Torotot Festival winners announced

AROUND 2,000 people welcomed the new year by blowing party horns in the 14th Davao Torotot Festival New Year’s Eve Countdown held at Rizal Park in Davao City on December 31.

This was bared by the Davao City Tourism Office head Generose Tecson about the Davao City Government and Smart Communications team up.

Winners who bagged P50,000 for their entries in the different torotot-inspired contests were: John Vincent Estapon for the Most Creative Torotot; OrlyEspedilla for the Most Creative Torotot-Inspired Costume; and Ian Carl Panes for the Cosplay Competition.

The Crossover also took home P50,000 first prize for the Hip Hop Dance Competition, while Albert Fudolig bagged the P15,000 cash prize for the Zumba Competition. The second and third runner ups also received cash prize.

Smart Communication regional head Arnold Dellosa said the focus of the torotot festival is to support the advocacy of the City Government over zero casualties, no smoking ordinance and no firecracker/pyrotechnic ordinance here.
