Ian Jefrey Addatu

THE Pinagkaisang Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (Piston) and United Negros Drivers Operators Center (Undoc) are urging Mayor Monico Puentevella to replace his executive assistant Reynaldo Ebreo as head of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) and Traffic Management Unit (TMU).

Diego Malacad, secretary-general of Undoc, sent a letter-petition to Puentevella through the City Council, stating the reasons why there is a need to change Ebreo.

They claimed that BTAO under the leadership of Ebreo has failed to perform well its mandate.

They stated that there were several traffic ordinances as well as a court order that Ebreo failed to respect and honor.

The letter-petition was signed by transport leaders and operators.

The Council included the matter in its agenda on Wednesday. It passed a resolution forwarding the said correspondence to the Office of the City Mayor for his appropriate action.

Ebreo had earlier said the 45-day experimental rerouting that ended on September 5 has been successful and received positive feedbacks from commuters.

He added that some junctions and intersections were decongested because of the rerouting.
