Twin fire hits Quezon City (4:26 p.m.)

MANILA -- Two fire incidents hit Quezon City Tuesday afternoon, leaving more than P5 million damages in properties.

The first fire occurred in Sitio Palanas in the village of Barsa in Quezon City at 1:30 p.m., where it gutted at least 200 shanties and damaging a building of the Department of Agriculture.

Fire authorities pegged the alarm to Task Force Charlie. They declared fire-out at 3:30 p.m.

Another fire hit a residential area in Cubao at 3:08 p.m., razing at least 40 shanties in a residential area along Seattle Street in Aurora Boulevard.

Reaching the fourth alarm level, it was declared fire-out at 3:58 p.m.

No serious injury were recorded from the twin fire. (JP/Sunnex)
