A WOMAN’S body, also believed to have been raped, was found inside a house in Barangay Toril, Babak District on the Island Garden City of Samal on Friday.

The victim was identified as Mirzi Dora, a 27-year-old employee of an insurance company based in Davao City.

Babak police revealed that the incident was reported to their station around 5:40 a.m.

A barangay official of Toril identified as Primitivo Torin Gegrimosa, 65, married, told police that he found the body of Dora at the residence of one Lludeza Mellomeda Quezada.

Based on police’s initial examination, Dora may have been bludgeoned on the head, or she may have been hit by a hard object after police spotted bruises on her head.

Sun.Star Davao SuperBalita tried to gather further details on the incident, yet the chief of Babak police, Senior Inspector Lito Impas, refused to provide information pending investigation.

As of Friday, members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco)-Davao were still conducting examination to determine the cause of the victim's death.

Soco is also confirming whether there was indeed a sign that the victim may have been raped.

Babak police, meanwhile, are conducting an operation to locate the owner of the house for questioning. (With reports from Jeepy Compio)
