SINGER Lady Gaga wins an Oscar for her award-winning song performance in a movie.

Gaga won the Best Original Song for “The Shallow” which she sang in Bradley Cooper’s debut film – A Star is Born. Gaga was also nominated as Best Actress but took home the title of Best Original Song.

In her acceptance speech, Gaga thanked her partner, Cooper, for being the perfect partner she sang with in the movie.

“There’s not a single person on the planet that could have sang this song with me but you”, Gaga said to Cooper while accepting the award.

She also thanked the fans and everyone who voted for them in this award.

“Thank you for believing in us......And if you are at home and you’re sitting on your couch, and you are watching this right now, all I have to say is that this is hard work. I’ve worked hard for a long time, and ...it’s not about winning. But what it’s about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it.”

Earlier in the program, Gaga and Cooper sang a rendition of Shallow, which was shot from upstage and the audience acted as the backdrop for the performance. The performance was as intimate as it could be as they performed the song with a romantic vibe around it.

The two stars were in sync as their chemistry on and off the screen was incredibly strong. Both Gaga and Cooper played as lovers in the movie and it was completely clear that both of them were well deserving award-winning actors and singers as they passionately sang to each other in this performance. The crowd rose to its feet after the song. (Von Daniel R. Plasencia, USC intern)
