Grenade explodes in a house in Isabela City

A GRENADE exploded in a residential area in Isabela City, Basilan, the police reported Tuesday, May 22.

Superintendent Restituto Pangusban, Isabela City police chief, said the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. Monday, May 21, in Purok 4, Barangay Aguada.

No one was either killed or injured but the ceiling of the house owned by Hadja Nasra Dansalan, 60, was damaged by the explosion.

Pangusban said investigation showed that Dansalan and members of her family were watching a television when a fragmentation grenade exploded at the balcony of the house.

He said all possible motives are being looked into to identify the person behind the incident. Investigation is ongoing. (SunStar Philippines)
