TWO Filipinos were among four migrant fishery workers who have been found dead after a suspension bridge collapsed in Yilan County in northeast Taiwan.

According to Taiwan News, the bodies of Serencio Andree Abregana, 44, and Impang George Jagmis, 47, were found at 11:34 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, and at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 2. Taiwan News quoted a CNA report.

The two other fatalities were Indonesians, Taiwan News said.

Taiwanese authorities said two people were still missing.

The casualties were believed to be onboard three fishing boats that were hit by an oil tanker truck that fell off the Nanfang'ao Bridge in Yilan's Su'ao Township when this collapsed at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Taiwan's military deployed a floatable bridge as the search continued. Ten people were taken to hospitals with injuries, including the truck driver.

The 140-meter-long arched bridge collapsed after a typhoon swept by Taiwan, but it wasn't clear if the storm triggered the collapse.
