PUBLIC and private cemeteries, memorial parks and columbariums in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga will be closed from October 29 to November 3, 2021.

This is in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases resolution to close cemeteries during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in November to prevent gatherings that may serve as coronavirus disease (Covid-19) superspreader events.

The City Government here announced that public and private cemeteries will be open on October 25 to 28 and November 4 to 15, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with 50 percent capacity, and only two to three family members at one time will be allowed inside.

The local government unit also reminded the public to visit and pay respects to their departed, especially following minimum public health standards like wearing face masks and face shields, social distancing and logging in upon entry for contact tracing in case of emergencies.

Non-Fernandinos are required to present reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen test results taken within 48 hours to gain entry.

Also prohibited are firearms, deadly weapons and sharp objects, playing loud music, bringing in food, loitering inside the cemetery, gambling and littering.

Major cemeteries in the city include the Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Eternal Peace Memorial Park, Sanctuario De San Fernando Memorial Gardens and the San Fernando Public Cemetery, among others.

The City Government and management of cemeteries are asking for the understanding and cooperation of every Fernandino for the safe and meaningful commemoration of the deceased loved ones.
