2 men arrested for illegal drugs

ANGELES CITY -- Two men were arrested during a recent drug bust conducted by elements of this city’s Police Station 2.

The suspects were identified as Marco Valencia Laxamana alias Chowchow, 19, single of Number 74 Jesus Street Barangay Lourdes Northwest, this city and Jerry Bonifacio Canezo alias Jeremac, 25, single of A5 Temporary Market, also in said village.

The Drug Enforcement Unit of said police station stated that a civilian informer relayed that a person was allegedly selling prohibited drugs in said barangay.

Police Chief Inspector Daryl Gonzales, Police Station 2 commander, immediately dispatched a team, in cooperation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), to conduct an operation which resulted to the arrest of the two suspects.

Gonzales said they tapped a confidential agent to purchase drugs from the suspects.

Police operative later recovered methamphetamine and marked money from the suspects.

Senior Inspector Agnes Nolasco, public information officer of the Angeles Police Office, said that the two were charged with drug possession and pushing.
