7,231 active Covid cases logged in Pampanga

THE total number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Pampanga continued to rise and was already at 7,231, with 728 new infections recorded on Tuesday, January 18.

The Department of Health’s (DOH) official coronavirus tracker showed that Pampanga now has a total of 78,331 cases, with 69,350 recoveries. Covid-19 deaths stood at 1,750 cases.

Pampanga has reported 6,988 cases in the last 14 days, while Angeles City reported 1,767 cases for the same period.

Six people have died from the disease in the recent two weeks.

Majority of the 47 health facilities in the province are now experiencing an increase in the number of bed occupancies.

The rate of occupancy in the region is currently at 46.7 percent, slightly lower than in previous days. This means that only 726 of the total 1,363 hospital beds in Pampanga are currently available.

Four health facilities are currently in high-risk level.

The province has three health facilities in critical category.
