NINETY-FOUR new coronavirus cases were recorded in Pampanga on October 24, according to data from the Department of Health’s (DOH) coronavirus tracker, which showed a decline in the number of infections in the province.

This brought the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Pampanga to 67,870 as of Monday, October 25.

Of the number, 6,588 have recovered from the virus.

The total number of active cases is now down to 1,116.

Some 1,666 people have since died of the virus from the start of the pandemic.

The DOH data showed that 52,792 of the confirmed cases are from Pampanga while another 15,078 are from Angeles City.

Local data from the Provincial Government of Pampanga and Angeles City, however, vary on the actual number of cases, deaths and active cases.

The DOH said that Pampanga had recorded some 1,333 new cases in the last 14 days.

The DOH data also showed that local health facilities in Pampanga are no longer stretched compared to previous weeks with the number of coronavirus infections having declined significantly.

Of the 47 health facilities in Pampanga, only three are now in critical level while another four are at high risk.

Pampanga’s bed occupancy is currently at 38.5 percent, one the lowest in previous weeks. This means that 475 of the total 1,235 hospital beds available in the province are currently occupied. Some 760 hospital beds remain vacant.
