96-year-old woman contracts coronavirus

A 96-year-old woman from Magalang town, Pampanga has contracted the novel coronavirus, the local government said in its update.

The patient, with codename M657 from Barangay San Roque here, is one of the four senior citizens recently diagnosed with the virus.

As of May 12, 2021, the Municipal Health Office confirmed eight new recoveries, 13 new cases, and one mortality.

This brought the total number of confirmed active Covid-19 patients in the town to 138.

The municipal government has appealed to residents to always follow the minimum health standards set by the Department of Health to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

"We are also appealing to every qualified individual to get vaccinated against the dreaded Covid-19 virus through bit.ly/MAGALANGBAKUNA," it added.
