969 Covid deaths in Central Luzon; total cases now at 25,602

THE coronavirus disease (Covid-19) death toll in Central Luzon rose to 3.8 percent or 969 cases, while the number of confirmed cases reached 25,602, said the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH said 89.7 percent or some 22,979 of the confirmed cases have already recovered from the virus. This, as some 6.5 percent or 1,654 remain active.

For December 28 alone, some 95 new cases have been recorded in the region. Some 55 cases come from Pampanga with another 32 cases from Bulacan.

Of the 1,654 active cases, some 604 are currently asymptomatic, while another 1,003 cases are exhibiting mild symptoms. Some 36 patients are currently severe, while 11 are critical.

Meanwhile, Bulacan province had breached its 10,000 mark with 10,296 cases. It is currently the province with the most number of cases.
