Agriculture department in Central Luzon has new chief

DEPARTMENT of Agriculture (DA)-Central Luzon former Regional Technical Operations for Extensions head Crispulo Bautista, Jr. has been appointed as new regional director.

Bautista replaces former regional director Roy Abaya who has been recalled back to his former post at the DA regional office.

Bautista is a BS Agricultural Engineering graduate from Central Luzon State University, batch 1980. He worked with the Philippine Cotton Corporation as water specialist. He also managed a hacienda in Victoria, Laguna where he pioneered the implementation of the rice gardening technique of Japan.

He also had a stint with the Integrated Farm Management Corporation. He also worked with the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) in 1988 and eventually headed the PMS Region I. He was also one of the three staff of the North Luzon Growth Quadrant.

He worked with former Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap. Baustista also served as assistant regional director for Region I.

Bautista said that he will be working to further the goals of the agency and to further strengthen the working relationship of the DA with local partners and governments in the region.

Bautista is a native of Pangasinan.
