ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has commended farmers from Barangay Sapangbato who produced green arabica beans, which they turned over to the City Agriculture Office.

The locally-produced green arabica beans of the Angeles City farmers can soon be purchased at the city’s One Town, One Product store.

“Bukod sa matutulungan natin mga kababayan natin, maipapakita din natin ang kalidad ng kapeng Angeleño, na kayang makipagsabayan sa mga international brands ng kape,” Lazatin said.

In 2020, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (Acedipo) head Irish Bonus-Llego coordinated with the Tala Orani Multipurpose Cooperative Coffee Shop and Processing Facility in Bataan in providing a livelihood program for coffee farmers in the city.

Manuel has instructed Bonus-Llego to assist the farmers in securing necessary documents for them to be able to sell their coffee products of green and roasted coffee beans at the OTOP store.

Meanwhile, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas said that this initiative will help local coffee farmers sell their products more effectively, enabling them to provide for their families especially during this time of pandemic.
