Angeles City records 25 Covid-19 deaths

ANGELES CITY -- The local government unit (LGU) has reported a total of 25 residents in the city who died because of Covid-19, as of September 18, 2020.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the city had climbed to 528.

Some 19 new cases and the total number of active cases has reached 195, as of Friday.

Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. said of the 528 total cases, some 308 patients had recovered so far.

The mayor earlier ordered the procurement of additional modular tents to increase the capacity of hospitals and the quarantine facility in the city.

Lazatin also asked his constituents to practice social distancing, wear face masks and shields, and observe other health protocols to avoid contracting the virus.

He also asked residents to stay at home as the threat of Covid-19 still exists.

The local chief executive also ordered the banning of gatherings including birthday parties, weddings and others.

He also lauded frontline workers for their dedication and sacrifices to help other people during the pandemic.

"Our frontliners are sacrificing their own lives and their family to help other people. They are our modern heroes," Lazatin said.
