ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. has ordered the installation of container vans that will serve as storage for the city’s food stockpile.

Lazatin, with Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel supervised the installation on March 23, 2020 at the City Hall Compound.

The container vans will house the food stocks Lazatin ordered to purchase as part of the emergency supplies for indigent families in the city. The food stocks also include donations from non-government organizations (NGOs) and private individuals.

Lazatin also prepared 100,000 emergency food packs each containing four kilos of rice and 10 canned goods for a family of five persons for four days.

“During these trying times, our indigent families are highly affected. I want to assure them that they will be completely aided throughout this public health concern,” he said.

Moreover, Lazatin said the local government aims to be ready and resilient in every way possible, with or without the coronavirus outbreak.

“Part of being in public service means you are always ready to address all the needs of your constituents. This is why with or without the coronavirus outbreak, here at the city government, we always want to be ready and prepared for anything,” he added. (PR)
