Apalit opens new vax sites

IN AN aim of boosting the vaccination drive in Apalit town, the local government is opening new inoculation sites in different barangays.

As of August 16, 2021, two vaccination sites in Barangay San Juan and Barangay Tabuyuc were already functional and can inoculate up to 1,000 persons per day, depending on the availability of vaccines, said Mayor Oscar Tetangco Jr.

He said the Barangay Tabuyuc site caters to its residents and nearby villages, including Calantipe, Cansinala and Balucuc, while those from other areas are vaccinated in the main site in Barangay San Juan.

He also said they are also preparing another vaccination venue in Villena Subdivision in Barangay San Vicente, which is the biggest and most populated village in the town.

"We are trying to bring the vaccines closer to the people so we can inoculate more and minimize the exposure of people to others if they travel farther," Tetangco said.

Aside from new vaccination sites, Tetangco said the local government also hired additional medical personnel to ensure the safety of vaccinees.

He urged Apaliteños who are not vaccinated yet to register themselves through their online form so they can be included in the next rollout of vaccines.
