THE Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon has resumed the distribution of indemnity payments to hog raisers affected by African Swine Fever (ASF) starting with hog raisers from Barangay Gulap in Candaba town.

About 53 people received an indemnity payment worth P5,000 for each pig slaughtered due to ASF.

The total fund allocated to the said barangay alone was about P4,110,000.

Mario Sebastian, one of the pig farmers who received financial assistance from the department, expressed his gratitude to the DA for the assistance.

"I will use this money in my poultry business, since I became affected by ASF disease I thought of entering the poultry industry, it is a great help to me and my family," he said.

The department ensures that social distancing and wearing a facemask were maintained in the conduct of the activity.
