A PERSON with disability (PWD) from Macabebe, Pampanga died on Tuesday, September 22, after contracting the novel coronavirus.

The patient was a 64-year-old male from Barangay Sta. Rita who had lost his eyesight and suffered from hypertension.

The local government noted that the patient initially experienced cough with dry and itchy throat on September 15, and developed fever the following day.

He underwent check-up in a local hospital but was only diagnosed with urinary tract disease and was discharged after given prescription.

The patient's condition, however, did not improve in the next two days until he complained of difficulty of breathing and was brought to Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital on September 20 for swab testing.

After two days, the patient, who was already intubated, tested positive for coronavirus and died on the same day.

The elderly patient is now the seventh Covid-related mortality in Macabebe after the death of a senior citizen couple.

As of September 24, there were a total of 51 confirmed Covid-19 cases in town, 17 of which have already recovered.
