SECOND District Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon relayed to stakeholders at the National Tech-Voc Day at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga the commitment of Governor Dennis Pineda to support employment and technical vocational training in Pampanga.

David-Dizon represented Pineda in the event.

Led by the Technical Education and Skills Development Training Authority (Tesda), tech-voc day is held every August 25 pursuant to Republic Act 10970.

The Tesda also earlier convened an inter-agency meeting to solicit from partner agencies and organizations their commitment for the conduct of the 2019 World Cafe of Opportunities (WCO).

WCO is one activity during the National Tech-Voc Day, which is celebrated every August 25. It is aimed at operationalizing Job Linkaging and Networking Services (JoLiNS).

The event will convene beneficiaries seeking jobs, skills training/upgrading, entrepreneurship training, scholarships, higher skills-job matching, hired on the spot, and consultancy services.

David-Dizon said the Provincial Government of Pampanga is fully committed to provide the necessary government support for job-matching, training, and skills development of the province's manpower in line with the goals of Tesda.

She also lauded the success of the partnerships that the Provincial Government had cultivated with Tesda through the years and the effective job generation that resulted from such cooperation.

David-Dizon assured the province's cooperation with the development plans of Tesda in the coming years, stressing that more cooperation is needed now that there is a national blueprint for technical-vocational education that needs the support of all stakeholders.

Earlier in June, President Rodrigo Duterte, through Executive Order 83, has approved the National Technical Education and Skills Development Plan (NTESDP) 2018-2022, the national blueprint for the technical-vocational education and training (TVET) sector in the country.

EO 83, which Duterte signed on June 17, states that the NTESDP 2018-2022 aims to "mobilize, galvanize and strengthen the TVET sector, in order to attain global competitiveness and workforce readiness, as well as social equity for workforce inclusion and poverty reduction."
