THE Municipality of Candaba Friday, April 3, reported its first two positive cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) with the first one dying while awaiting test results.

According to Municipal Health Officer Dra. Preny Manimbo, Patient 1 was a 62-year-old male from Barangay Tenejero.

The patient died as a person under investigation as his test result came only days after his demise.

Patient 2, meanwhile, is a resident of Barangay Magumbali here and is currently admitted in a private hospital, Manimbo said.

The health officer said those who had close contact with the Covid-19-positive patients are already accounted for and are under strict monitoring.

Mayor Rene Maglanque, for his part, called on Candabeños to continue cooperating with the preventive measures set by the national and local government to contain the spread of virus.

He added that the local government has stepped up its drive to combat the disease through installation of sanitation booths, municipal-wide disinfection of public places and strict implementation of home quarantine.

He also assured Candabeños that all possible financial and relief assistance will be delivered to every household to assist families in this time of uncertainty.

“We continue to ask for your cooperation and patience as we, in the national and local government, work harder to provide for your needs as we all together fight this virus pandemic,” he said.
