Candaba students get cash grants

OVER a hundred students from Candaba, Pampanga recently received financial assistance under the Provincial Government's Educational Financial Assistance Program (Efap).

A total of 124 college students enrolled in different universities received P3,000 each during the distribution led by provincial board members.

In an interview, Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab urged beneficiaries to finish their studies to get better opportunities in the future.

"There are many professions today that does not require college degree, but having one still gives a person an advantage and as I always say, education is the only thing that cannot be taken away from us," she said.

Mayor Rene Maglanque, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government headed by Governor Dennis Pineda for the continuous support to Candabeño youth.

"My administration has always prioritized education and Governor Dennis Pineda has always been very supportive of us. From the regular scholarship grants to the establishment of our own Don Honorio Ventura State University, his assistance has always been constant," he said.

Board Members Pol Balingit, Nelson Calara, Gabby Mutuc, Asyong Macapagal, Vice Mayor Michael Sagum and Municipal Council members joined Pineda-Cayabyab and Maglanque during the distribution.
