Central Luzon coronavirus cases reach 26,000; mortalities 988

THE total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Central Luzon has now reached 26,235, with 988 deaths, according to the January 8 report of the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH said of the total number of confirmed cases, some 23,580 have already recovered, which represents 89.9 percent of the total case count.

Active cases are currently at 6.4 percent or 1,667. Some 540 cases were asymptomatic, while 1,080 manifested mild symptoms. A total of 37 cases were severe, while 10 cases were in critical condition.

Deaths from the Covid-19 in the region have also reached 988, which represented 3.8 percent of the total number of cases.
