Central Luzon Covid-19 cases hit 88,000 mark

ACTIVE coronavirus diseases (Covid-19) cases in Central Luzon have reached a total of 9,127, as the number of infections continues to rise with 88,406 recorded since the start of the pandemic.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported that 839 cases were recorded in the region on Sunday, May 3.

Bulacan has the most number of confirmed cases at 39,760. Pampanga ranked second, with 16,898. Nueva Ecija currently has 8,342 confirmed cases, followed by Bataan with 6,527 and Tarlac at 6,101.

In the last 14 days alone, 4,404 cases were recorded in Bulacan while 2,429 were recorded in Pampanga.

The total number of deaths in the region stood at 2,018, while 77,261 patients have recovered from the disease.

Bulacan has the most number of deaths at 784, followed by Pampanga with 513 cases. Nueva Ecija has recorded some 225 deaths, while Angeles City has 139 deaths as of May 4.

Pampanga, which has the highest fatality rate in the region, recorded 48 deaths in the last 14 days.
