Central Luzon Covid-19 cases near 19,000

THE number of active Covid-19 cases in Central Luzon was close to 19,000, as of Friday, April 16, 2021.

The Department of Health (DOH) in Central Luzon said the number of active cases in Central Luzon was at 18,953.

This was equivalent to some 27.5 percent of the overall number of confirmed cases, which was 68,866, DOH-Central Luzon reported.

The province of Bulacan had the highest number of active cases with 9,134, followed by Pampanga (including Angeles City) with 4,678, Nueva Ecija with 2,031, and Tarlac with 1,449.

Zambales (including Olongapo City) also posted 656 active cases, while Bataan had 890 and Aurora had 115.

Most of the active cases or about 98.32 percent of the total number were only at mild-level and were either on home quarantine or transferred to government-run isolation centers.
