Central Luzon Covid-19 cases nearing 100,000 mark

LESS than a hundred cases and the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Central Luzon would have breached the 100,000, mark as the total is currently at 99,949 as of May 18, Tuesday, said the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH data showed that more than 565 new cases were recorded on Tuesday alone.

The total active cases in Central Luzon are currently at 6,769, while the number of recoveries is currently at 90,836.

The total number of deaths from the virus has slightly increased to 2,344 cases.

Bulacan has the most number of recorded cases at 43,456, followed by Pampanga with 19,096.

Nueva Ecija also recorded 10,235, while Bataan and Tarlac both recorded 7,816 and 7,156 cases, respectively.

Some 9,507 cases have been recorded in the region in the last 14 days.

Deaths from the virus are mostly from Bulacan (838), Pampanga (601), Nueva Ecija (279), Bataan (177) and Angeles City (174).
