Ian Ocampo Flora

GOVERNOR Dennis Pineda increased the subsidy for 675 child development workers (CDWs) in the province from P500 to P1,500 this coming January 2020.

Pineda said that the CDWs will start receiving P2,000 subsidy after the Provincial Board approved his request for additional subsidy for the workers who served as front liners in addressing needs and concerns of the young in Pampanga.

For 2019, CDWs had received some P6.054 million in subsidy from July-December 2019. Pineda said that he will continue the scholarship grants for the 103 children of CDWs in Pampanga. The governor reported that some 64 students have finished college courses through the support program on education.

Pineda said that the support programs aim to capacitate CDWs to better serve the development of young children in Pampanga without worrying for their personal needs. Pineda said that his administration will look into the health and welfare of CDWs in Pampanga in the coming programs of the Provincial Government.
