OUTSOURCING company Cloudstaff recently conducted a tree planting activity as part of its efforts to help save the environment.

Through its corporate social responsibility arm CS Cares, Cloudstaff executives and staff initiated a tree planting activity on November 19 in Barangay Sapangbato in partnership with the Angeles City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) headed by Archimedes Lazatin.

Cloudstaff volunteers from different departments of the company planted 250 fruit-bearing trees in an area identified by Cenro.

“Trees are one of the greatest gifts of nature; they come with a lot of benefits. Aside from the usual knowledge that trees give us oxygen and store carbon, they also help recharge the groundwater supply which is most beneficial to the Angelenos since we usually rely on the groundwater to supply our daily water needs. We conducted this activity to give back to the environment as our main goal,” Cloudstaff said in a statement.

As a business process outsourcing (BPO) company, Cloudstaff said it uses numerous computers and air conditioners.

“We are aware of the impacts of the technologies we use, therefore, we make sure that all our waste is being disposed of properly and in our own ways, such as this tree planting activity, we’d like to do our share in saving the environment,” the company said.

Cloudstaff said it will continue to monitor the seedlings they planted and aim to make their tree-planting activity a yearly event.

“The company has been blessed with a lot of opportunities this year and we want to give back to the community as well. Currently, we are looking for possible benefactors for our other community projects this coming December,” the company said.

Cloudstaff was established in 2005 by Australian Internet pioneer Lloyd Ernst. The company initially focused on software development for Western markets.

In 2010, Cloudstaff identified the Philippines as an emerging market for outsourcing services and expanded operations to the region, commencing with a small team of only seven staff. As a result of the successful expansion, the company was able to extend its service offerings and workforce.

Today, Cloudstaff employs around 4,000 staff and contractors across six different locations and is growing at an average rate of 7.5 percent per month.

Cloudstaff offices are located in Australia, London, and the Philippines including Clark, Angeles City, Pasig City, Makati City, Cebu City and Baguio.
