Companies asked to give workers time for vaccination

Charlene A. Cayabyab

ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. is appealing to all companies here to give their employees "flexible time" in receiving their vaccines via the city's Ronda Bakuna and Sundo Bakuna programs.

According to Lazatin, these vaccination programs launched by the city government are intended for all priority groups, including workers.

Prior to the vaccination day schedule, city hall employees from Gender and Development Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, and City Nutrition Office conduct household visits in the barangay to give out vaccine forms and notices.

"This is why we are asking all companies to allow their employees to receive their vaccines once the Ronda Bakuna and Sundo Bakuna have been scheduled in their respective barangays," Lazatin said.

Lazatin is also reminding employees to do their part, give their own time, and participate in the city's ongoing vaccination program.

To date, under the A4 priority group also known as economic workers and frontliners and uniformed personnel, 35,962 have already received their first dose of the vaccine, while 15,150 were fully vaccinated.

Lazatin also said the vaccine being administered by the city government is for free and cautioned residents not to entertain groups or individuals asking for payment for inoculations.

He is urging his constituents to immediately report any of these fraudulent activities to the city government's hotline 09517570226.
