CAMP OLIVAS -- At least 550 police personnel from Central Luzon participated in the intensified internal cleansing strategy “My Brother’s Keeper Program” which was formally launched Monday at the Police Regional Office (PRO), police said Wednesday.

The “My Brother’s Keeper” (MBK) program, a pioneering project of Police Regional Office IV A (PRO-4) was conceptualized by Police Director Ma. O. Ranada Aplasca, director for Operations who was then the regional director of PRO4-A, which was aimed at cleansing the ranks from erring cops and police scalawags particularly those engaged in illegal activities.

The team “MBK” from PRO4-A presented the “Brother’s Keeper” concept to the participants including the development of their individual tasks provided in their job descriptions, designations and tasks.

Under the program, the five-man squad is led by a senior non-commissioned officer organized from the Regional Headquarters and cascaded to police stations, platoons, and the mobile force battalion and mobile force company while unit commanders, immediate supervisors and squad leaders of PRO-3 and respective police units are compelled to closely supervise their subordinates, sanction disciplinary actions and will also be held accountable for non-action of their erring personnel.

“Let us give the best we can so that this great initiative will be sustained. I am giving my full support on this project which will, undoubtedly, create a positive impact on the lives of our PNP personnel,” said Chief Superintendent Joel Napoleon Coronel, PRO-Central Luzon director. (Ric Sapnu)
