Covid-19 recoveries in Central Luzon now over 1,000

THE number of patients in Central Luzon who have recovered from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) have exceeded 1,000, data from Department of Health (DOH) regional office showed.

As of August 15, the DOH-Central Luzon reported that there are a total of 1,483 Covid-19 recoveries from the region, including the repatriates who were isolated at the New Clark City (NCC) upon their return to the country.

The province of Bulacan has the highest number of recuperated patients at 766 albeit also having the most number of confirmed Covid-19 cases at 2,000.

It is followed by Bataan with 286 recoveries out of its total 498 confirmed cases; Pampanga with 140 recoveries from its total 516 confirmed cases; and Nueva Ecija with 106 recoveries out of 227 total cases.

Out of the 122 cases in Zambales province, 72 have reportedly recuperated, while Tarlac has a total of 50 recoveries out of its 115 confirmed cases.

The whole province of Aurora, meanwhile, remains free from the highly-contagious virus as of this posting Monday.

Sixty-three repatriates who were temporarily sheltered at the NCC for quarantine and isolation have also already recovered and were sent home to their respective provinces.

DOH also reported that out of the total 3,555 Covid-19 confirmed cases in Central Luzon, only 350 remain admitted in various hospitals, while 1,605 patients were already discharged but are still completing the mandatory 14-day home quarantine.

The region also registered a total of 117 Covid-19 related deaths.
