IN LINE with the 18th cityhood anniversary celebration, the city government of San Fernando on Monday, February 4, held a multisectoral assembly at the Heroes Hall’s mini convention center.

The assembly, led by city government officials and headed by Mayor Edwin Santiago, gathered members of the different sectors including youth, religious and transport groups, and the private sector.

Santiago said that the assembly aims to unite Fernandinos in working for the common goal of developing San Fernando into a smart, green, liveable, child-friendly and culture and tourism-centered city.

“Our battlecry remains the same, to make San Fernando the best city for our children of the future generation. All our hard work today is aimed at making them enjoy the beauty and the opportunities our city may bring in the coming years,” he said.

During the assembly, Santiago presented his administration’s 10-point agenda which serves as the blueprint on his vision and quest to make San Fernando a “super city.”

Also, the awards and citations, including Most Competitive and Most Child-Friendly City, Gawad Kalasag, and Outstanding Mayor, bagged by the city government were also presented to showcase what the city has done in the past five years.

“We look at these (awards) as our inspiration as we move forward with our goal to provide a community that is conducive for living, learning, working and playing for every Fernandino and Fernandino-at-heart,” he said.
