CSF women undergo training on fashion items-making

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Members of the Fernandina Women's Federation Incorporated underwent training on fashion accessories making on Thursday, September 13.

The program organized by the local government and the Women’s Week Executive Committee was held at the Heroes Hall here.

Each of the participants were given a beginner’s kit that includes flat long nose and round nose pliers, nylon monolines, elastic bands, strands of mixed color glass crystals and faux pearls, eight pieces of tear drop clear crystals, pins, jump rings, earring hooks, spacers, lobster locks, toggle locks, and crimps.

Gilbert Garcia, Bryan Gil Creations designer and trainer, said they gave out the beginners kit to the women for their motivation to start a business.

“This event will empower women due to their help and support for their family by doing their own creations, applying their creativity and feelings to these accessories they’re making, and establishing a fashion accessories-line businesses,” Garcia said.

The participants learned the basics on making fashion accessories like how to make a perfect loop, hook earrings, necklaces and bracelets with toggle locks, bracelets with the use of elastic band, costing, pricing, and product presentation.

The attendees came from barangays Quebiawan, San Felipe, Maimpis, and Santo Niño.
