DA accredits CL integrated agri-research center

City of San Fernando The Department of Agriculture of Central Luzon awarded the Certificate of Accreditation to the Department of Agriculture – Central Luzon Integrated Agriculture Research Center Lowland Development in the City of San Fernando recently.

The said accreditation is from the Bureau of Plant Industry in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture with the purpose of ensuring that the materials to be used in planting are correct and to ensure the quality of the plant to be grown.

According to Agriculturist Roel Rubion, this certification is necessary because it is the mandate of the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) in the regional office to ensure the quality of materials used sector.

"For those who want to be part of this program, the first thing that is needed is the training in different crops and their facilities and plant nurseries and mother trees that want to be certified. After making an application and completing the necessary requirements, it will have a primary evaluation where it will be checked if the said plant nursery can be accredited," he added.
