MUNICIPAL employees and personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) spent their Valentine's Day Friday, February 14, with a cleanup activity aimed at removing garbage from a local creek in Sta. Ana town.

While most people celebrated their Valentine's Day with loved ones, more than 250 employees from the DENR and the local government of Sta. Ana participated in the cleanup at Matubig creek in San Agustin village.

The creek flows to Betis River, which directly drains to Manila Bay.

A total of 1,960 kilograms of wastes, composed of plastic cups, straws, candy wrappers, and other single-used plastics, were collected.

The activity was part of the Manila Bay cleanup and rehabilitation program of the government.
