CLARK FREEPORT -- Livelihood beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole)-Central Luzon recently attended a capacity building training from November 18 to 20.

About 27 beneficiaries of Dole-Central Luzon’s Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF) participated in a three-day training program at Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport.

Technical Support and Services Division for Employment and Welfare head Alejandro Inza Cruz said the participants were from 14 group beneficiaries of Dole Integrated Livelihood Program or the Kabuhayan Program.

Cruz mentioned that training activities are being conducted to see and monitor the improvement and upgrade each group has accomplished.

“It is part of the five year-program that you, as our beneficiaries, are to be given capacity building trainings from third party trainers and consultants,” Cruz said in her message to the participants.

Aside from those conducted by Dole, Cruz said capacity building trainings aim to provide information on key functions of management, basic business operations and marketing, as well as gain inputs from partner agencies including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

Resource speakers during the training were Dr. Jean Paolo G. Lacap from the City College of Angeles City, Glicel Grace Tiamzon from DTI Pampanga and Edwin Salas of Tesda Pampanga.

Respective Dole-Central Luzon provincial field office heads and their focals were also present throughout the activity to provide assistance and inputs on the program implementation at the grassroots level.

Dole-Central Luzon chief Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita thanked partner agencies and beneficiaries who work to sustain the livelihood provided to them.

“I am in high hopes that eventually, this granted livelihood could provide employment not only to their own members but also to their communities,” Campita said.
