Duterte confers Order of Lapu-Lapu Kampilan to Marawi heroes

CAPAS, Tarlac -- President Rodrigo Duterte conferred Thursday, September 27, the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the rank of Kampilan to 13 soldiers of the Army Mechanized Infantry Division (MID).

“These soldiers were seriously wounded in the combat operations against the Maute Group in Marawi City from May 23 to October 23, 2017,” Captain Emmanuelle Adriano, Division Public Affairs Office chief, said.

Recipients include 1LT Geraldo Alvarez, 1LT Lyle Van Pañamogan, 1LT Jeffrey Allan Don Simbulan, SSG Teodulo Generalao, TSG Edgar Mayo, SGT Christopher Waoy, and CPL Mark Lumbay.

Also, CPL Daniel Rebuca, CPL Roland Parel, CPL Fredie Marcial Valencia, PFC Christian Perez, PFC Jerry Ocuaman, and PFC George Cabanayan Jr.

“The Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Kampilan Rank Medal is awarded to government workers and civilians who were seriously wounded or injured or suffered great loss of property as a direct result of their participation to a campaign or advocacy of the President,” Adriano explained. (PIA-Central Luzon)
