PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will lead the inspection of the new Clark International Airport (CRK) Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Duterte will be accompanied by Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and other government officials during the inspection of one of the key projects of the “Build, Build, Build” program of the Duterte administration.

Under Tugade's watch, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has completed the development of the CRK in 2020 despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Touted as “Asia’s Next Premier Gateway,” the CRK is being envisioned as a viable and comparable alternative to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila, and its world-class design and capability is projected to help decongest the passenger traffic at NAIA.

One of its outstanding feature will be its connectivity with the North South Commuter Railway system, wherein it will have an Airport Express that can transport arriving travelers from Clark to Makati in just 45 minutes.

With the expansion of the airport and the construction of its new Passenger Terminal Building, its passenger capacity will be tripled from its current 4.2 million to 12.2 million annually.

Clark airport is seen to generate more jobs, boost tourism, and help propel the economic growth of Central Luzon and the whole country.
