SIX members of a family in Apalit town have contracted the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), Mayor Oscar Tetangco Jr. said over the weekend.

Tetangco said the family live in the same house in Barangay Capalangan, which could be the reason of their simultaneous infection.

"All of them were already tested and six are positive, including some children, so let us pray that they surpass this," he said.

As of January 16, the mayor said the family was still quarantined in their house while awaiting transfer into an isolation facility.

All close contacts were also advised to undergo self-quarantine and immediately coordinate with health office if symptoms are felt.

As of January 16, the municipality recorded a total of 217 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 17 of which are active.
