Filipino cyclists attempt to break Guinness record

CLARK FREEPORT -- Some 5,000 cyclists from Metro Manila, Pampanga and other parts of Luzon are set to break Sunday, October 28, inside the Freeport the Guinness Book of World Record for the longest single line of moving bicycles.

The event, spearheaded by Trinx Philippines, National Bicycle Organization, Department of Tourism, Clark Development Corporation, and Mabalacat City local government, is an official attempt to break the current Guinness world record in Bangladesh with 1,186 bikers.

An official Guinness judge will be arriving here from United Kingdom to assess the Philippines attempt.

The event will start at 4:30 a.m. at the Clark Picnic Grounds.

The DOT Central Luzon office invited newsmen, tourists and bike enthusiasts to witness the event in Clark, one of the country's outdoor sports events.

Actor Gardo Verzosa of the Cupcake Bikers 143 bike group, together with other personalities, will lead the event.
