KOREAN nationals who were allegedly engaged in fraudulent schemes were arrested by authorities in Angeles City recently.

In a report shared by Police Regional Office-Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, the suspects that included five Korean nationals and four Filipinos were allegedly in hacking and phishing activities.

They allegedly amassed multi-million pesos for victimizing mostly Korean nationals and US citizens through the conduct of said illicit activities.

The arrest of the suspects stemmed from three separate search warrants issued by Angeles City courts for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 8484 (Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998) as amended by RA No. 11449 (An Act Providing for Additional Prohibitions to and Increasing Penalties for Violations of RA 8484).

The suspects were identified as Lee Sungbo, Lee Jaehun, Song Gil Sung, Yoensu Yoon, Junguk Lee -- all Korean nationals -- and Alyssa Payabyan Lee, Maiko Natividad, John Patrick Gonzales, Bong Garcia, all Filipino citizens.

Several cellphones, desktops, laptops and other devices, as well as credit cards and other paraphernalia used in their operations, were recovered from the suspects following their arrest.
