THE Romana Pangan District Hospital in Floridablanca has been placed under a temporary lockdown after 11 employees of the said hospital have been found positive for the novel coronavirus.

Pampanga Covid-19 Center Chief Dr. Jose Antonio Rivera said as of October 27, the patients have been admitted to the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) and the Athletes Village inside New Clark City.

The hospital initially had six confirmed cases, which resulted in an initial closure of segments inside the hospital. Authorities are still checking if the infection may have emanated from visitors or patients who were in the hospital before the onset of infections.

Some 180 employees of the said hospital have been placed under health screening to ensure the safety of the whole hospital and staff. There are at least 30 close contacts of the initial positive cases. Employees will undergo swab tests to confirm their infection statuses.

It is not yet clear when the operation of the hospital would resume but an ambulance has been placed on standby for the town’s emergency needs.

Emergency cases will be admitted to the Jose Songco District Hospital in Porac town or the Escolastica Romero District Hospital in Lubao town.
