Guagua's Betis Band 46 to represent Region 3 in national competition

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Ocampo’s Betis Band 46 will represent Region 3 in the Symphonic Band Category of the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in the national finals.

Founded in 1973, NAMCYA's goal is to encourage young artist who excel in music composition and performance to preserve, develop and promote Philippine music as an art and a handmade of cultural development.

Through Presidential Proclamation No. 1173, NAMCYA declares the period between November 26 and December 12 as National Week for Young Artists.

Ocampo's BETIS Band 46 will be the only representative in Region III.

The group that will participate in the contest is made up of young people aged 10 to 23 years old who came from different schools in Pampanga.

The National Finals Competition will be held from November 15 to 20, 2022 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CPP).

NAMCYA is the main tool for discovering 'major music talents' from different parts of the country.

Every year, it collaborates with well-known musicians in the intensive process of selecting the best from 17 regions.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is the main supporting agency in these efforts of NAMCYA.
